Courtney Sofiah Yates is a Brooklyn-based artist whose work explores what it means to be human through our most heightened emotional states. Whether it’s through character-driven narratives or creative documentaries, Courtney is dedicated to capturing relationships and performance with the use of color, the human body, and photographic compositions.

 

As a multi-hyphenate creative, Courtney’s film and print work focuses on connecting people through shared emotional landscapes. Courtney employs her lens, and her deep connectivity with talent to expand the worlds portrayed in her projects and bring them to life. She has collaborated with brands including Nike, Smirnoff, REI, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Bumble, among others.
